Winston has been adopted 💚
We were made aware of Winston needing a new home due to a change in his owners circumstances, Winston was only a pup and one of our adopters who recently lost there dog offered Winston his forever home, a very lucky boy!
Winston is settling in really well, he loves going to the secure field with his friends! cuddling up with the family cat and he likes to be neighbourhood watch looking out the window, when he isn't zooming about the garden. We can't wait to watch Winston grow and see his many adventures!

New Arrival - Peggy 💗
We were made away of Peggy who had been found as a stay and the found herself in the pound, she was at risk of PTS so we offered a place for Peggy with us. Peggy was very underweight, sore skin and had necrotic tissue on her tail, she was in desperate need of some TLC. Peggy went straight to a foster home and we can't thank Peggy's foster mum enough for the care and love she has given Peggy, the 1st photo is off when Peggy arrived to now, she looks so much healthier and is such a happy and sweet girl. Unfortunately Peggy has had part of her tail removed due to the necrotic tissue, but is healing well. When Peggy arrived we put out an appeal for her, to help with funds for all her vet work, we were blown away by the generosity shown and the amount we raised, the pictures show the difference we can make to dogs due to your help! so thank you.
Dobby - Kennel Break
Dobby recently went on a kennel break with one of our committee members and got a glowing report, we weren’t sure if a home would be too over stimulating for Dobby at this point, but he done well. Dobby really gravitated towards the men in the house and loved cuddling up on the couch, he enjoyed the garden and playing with his ball. We have introduced crates to all our dogs in kennels which has been a huge benefit, Dobby slept in his crate during the night in the house and didn’t make a peep. Dobby did try to eat pillows and have a game of tug of war with them, so we now we need to continue working on his impulse control and redirection, so this was a great test for Dobby and for us to learn more about him and see what’s next for Dobby. |

King's - Kennel Break
King also managed to get a kennel break with our volunteers, this was huge for King as it was in a busy residential area but he done well and was manageable. King is brilliant in the home he has great manners and loves snuggling up on the couch with you, he also meet some family members and he was brilliant. He loves people and expects belly rubs! King also went for some walks in secure fields and managed well seeing other dogs, he is such a foodie and engages well with you! Which helps so much.
Foster Homes Needed

We are in desperate need for Foster Homes, unfortunately we can't bring in anymore dogs as we have no kennel space or free fosterers.
Being a fosterer is a commitment but we are always here to support and help you, we also provide you with what you need and if behaviourist support is required.
As you can see from the photo of Rex what a difference it makes to dogs being in a foster home compared to kennels, it means we can fully assess them in a home and find out what home they need.
We need pet free homes, secure gardens and somebody around most of the day to let the dogs decompress, please see link below for more information.

Forever Foster - Reo
Meet Reo one of our forever fosters. Reo’s owner passed away and Reo had been with him since a puppy, Reo was extremely sad & distressed, so he came to us & we found him a lovely retirement home. Reo is so funny! He’s very active for his age, he has a huge garden were he runs about with his toys & loves playing with you, he’s a wee sweetheart. Reo goes out with a local dog walker now, he had his first walks in the last week and the dog walkers loved him, he was very good and loved being out a walk, having a good sniff! Reo has been in the vets and recently had an operation on his teeth, he had to get a number out and also a Libera injection as he was a bit stiff. Reo will always be in the care of SSR and you can help towards his monthly costs by sponsoring him at the link below. |
Milo has been adopted!
Milo has been waiting a wee while for his forever home, but it finally came! Milo is settling in really well into his new home, he is loving meeting new people and comes with a waggy tail and a toy to show them, Milo is enjoying his walks and getting used to the new surroundings. He is not a huge fan of the cats coming into the garden, so has been chasing them off and letting them now its his garden now. Milo's mum says that he is such a sweet boy and they are loving having him as part of the family! we can't wait to watch more of Milo's adventures in his new home.
