Staffie Smiles Rescue - June Update

BVAC Classic Festival of MotoringWe attended the BVAC Classic Festival of Motoring on Sunday 8th June in Lauder, we had such a brilliant day! it stayed dry and we meet so many people, who bought from our stall and chatted all things dogs! We raised about £500, the tombola didn't stop it all day.
Our next stall is at Doghailes in Musselburgh on Sunday 10th of August - we hope to see you there! |

Training Classes
Dobby has been attending training classes in Fife now for a few months now and is doing great, we have also been taking any new dogs to the classes. We are biased but there is quite a few staffies at the classes, so we love it & we also get to catch up with some of our adopted dogs to!
The classes are brilliant for working around dogs, being neutral, working on impulse control, basic training ect - our dogs are really thriving!

Ollie has been adopted 💗
Ollie didn't wait long to find his forever home and it was love at first sight for him and his mum! Ollie is such a great dog and has settled in so well, he has even had his 1st holiday with his fur cousin Bailey.
Ollie is loving his walks, garden and cuddling up with his mum! Ollie is also still attending the training classes we started with him, so we get to see him and his mum!

Bertie has been adopted 💗
We were made aware of Bertie in the pound, after he was found straying. Bertie served his time in the council pound and then came to us. One of our volunteers who recently lost there SSR dog, was able to foster Bertie and quickly adopt him.
Bertie is such a sweet boy, we don't think he has had much love but he has loads of that now & has been getting loads of TLC, Bertie has settled in so well and has made himself right at home, we can't wait to watch his adventures.

Kilt Walk - Raise funds for Staffie Smiles

Not all superheroes wear capes, some wear kilts!
A few volunteers are doing the Kilt Walk to raise funds for Staffie Smiles Rescue, would you like to join us? It is a brilliant event and a great achievement, all whilst raising vital funds. There are 3 distances you can choose from between 5-21 miles and is Sunday 14th September (Edinburgh) If you are interested in joining us, please drop us an email [email protected] and we will put together a team! |
Sofa Club Sponsor - Update

Brodie is one of our forever fosters & part of our Sofa Club, Brodie was adopted many years ago, but his owner had became really unwell and he had to come back to us, Brodie is about 15 so we moved him to a forever foster retirement home. It was a huge change for Brodie as he had been with his family for a long time, but he has done brilliant and settled in so well with his foster mum.
Brodie's foster mum had noticed he had sore teeth, so it was a trip to the vets for Brodie and he got 8 teeth out! what a trooper, he has recovered so well and his foster mum even said you wouldn't think he had such a big op! Brodie's vet bill was over 1k and this is why we are asking for sponsors for our Sofa Club dogs, to help with costs like this. |

Secure Fields - Can you help?
Quite a few of our dogs looking for homes are in kennels/reactive/overwhelmed so going to a secure field is brilliant for them! We use them a huge amount for our dogs in kennels and foster - it gives them some freedom, trigger free environment and peaceful! its so nice to see our dogs relax and also whilst in kennels it gives them a day out.
Secure fields are an expense for our small rescue and we are spending about £150 a week on secure fields, you are able to donate the cost of a secure field at the link below - thank you!
