A huge thank you to everybody who came to see us at Jollyes in April for our Easter themed stall.
We raised over £100 for the rescue, such a huge help for us! We loved seeing some of our adopted dogs and also talking to people who are interested in adopting/volunteering ect, its always great to talk about the rescue and our dogs. A huge thanks to the team at Jollyes (Hermiston Gate) who are a huge support to the Rescue. Thank you for your support, we will be back at Jollyes in July 🤍🤍 |
Peanut has been adopted 🐶🐾
Peanut came into SSR as just a baby, he moved straight into a foster home with other dogs and cats. Peanut had some issues with his leg, so as a precaution we had x-rays done but thankfully there was nothing serious - a huge thank you to everyone who donated towards his appeal.
Peanut found his forever home with a fanastic family, he also has a big fur sister called Lily - who will teach him lots! We can't wait to watch Peanut grow.

We had a very busy weekend for the May Bank Holiday!

Shadow has been adopted 💗
Shadow came to SSR from the pound, Shadow had been kept outside for her whole life in terrible conditions.
Shadow was able to move into an experienced foster home, who took there time letting her decompress and exposing her gently to the world!
Shadow then meet her forever mum and we were so pleased for her, she really deserves the world! she now sleeps in bed every night, goes to the beach and has lots of toys to play with.

Stella has been adopted 🐶🐾
Stella came to SSR from the pound, another young dog abondoned. Stella has damage to her ear and cigarette burns, we can't imagine what she went through in her short life, although Stella was so happy, loving and trusting.
Stella moved into a foster home, she kept foster mum on her toes as she was a livewire! Stella found her forever home with a great couple, who had sadly recently lost there staffie. Stella is loving life in her new home, she goes on great walks and has lots of new doggy friends.

Update on Buster 🐶

Buster came to SSR at the start of the year, an old boy who was at risk of PTS. We were able to move Buster to a short term foster, then into his long term foster Home. Buster is a forever foster, so is part of our Staffie Sofa Club and we will be responsible for anything Buster needs.
Buster had a huge dental operation, which he recovered so well from, he must have been in an awful amount of pain. Next up was a lump which needed removed from Buster's head, yet again he was a complete trooper and has recovered well. Buster is such a sweet and happy boy, he loves his treats! going walks with mum and sunbathing in the garden. Buster will have the best retirement. |

We are so proud to share that Craig, Jordan, Reiss & Rian are taking on the Half Marathon at the Wild Deer Scottish Trail Festival on 27th September 2026 in Dalkeith, Edinburgh — all to raise vital funds for SSR.

Kia has been adopted💗
We are so happy that Kia found her forever home, Kia came to us via the pound after being abandoned at the vets. Kia has been in a foster home for a few months and we are so thankful to Liz for looking after Kia. Kia was hours away from being PTS, when we offered her a space with us.
Kia is settling well into her forever home, she loves the garden and cuddles with Mum! There has been lots of new walks and toys (to destroy!). Mum says that Kia gives the best welcome when they return home.

We always need foster homes — every single day we are asked to help Staffies in the pound or dogs needing to be surrendered by their owners. Right now, we are in desperate need of foster homes so we can say yes to the dogs who need us most. ❤️ ✨ Fostering is completely free — we cover all costs, including food, vet care, equipment and anything else the dog may need. All we ask is that you are patient, understanding, and able to give a dog time to decompress in a safe and loving home. You’ll never be alone — we are always on hand to support you, whether you want to short-term foster or offer a long-term, gentle retirement home to one of our oldies. |

Loki came to SSR via owner surrender, due to a change in circumstances and luckily we had a great family waiting for Loki to join. Loki is just young and has settled in so well in his forever home, he loves the garden and sunbathing. There has been lots of new walks and meeting family members, we can't wait to watch more of Loki's adventures. |
Skye has been adopted🐶🐾
Skye came to SSR due to a change in her owners circumstances, Skye had been a much loved family pet.
Luckily we had a family waiting for Skye and its like she has always been there, she has settled in so well. Skye loves the garden which is a sun trap and going walks, we can't wait to watch more of Skye's adventures.
