I went to meet him today and fell in love with him. He was great with my children, aged 6yrs and 14yrs. He was great with them both. He loved running up and down the paddock playing ball with everyone.
I am a big boy who knows some basic commands, I love to play with my ball and I will strip tree branches if I find them. the rescue helps me to stop doing this on my walks with treats as I am a foodie and they say this helps with training me...........sausages lol
I had an injury to my tail so the vet said it was best to remove it, this doesn't stop me from wagging my wee tail that is left when I am happy. I needed to get some teeth removed so a lovely family offered to help me while I got this done. I was in a foster home for 2 weeks I loved my foster home, they said I was a good house guest, my favourite spot was being upside down on the sofa.
Sadly I am now back in kennels but I would love to be in a home again soon. could you help me, please x
UPDATE Jan 2020, Kimba is now in a foster home x
UPDATE Nov 2019
We are desperately looking for a forever home for Kimba. His owners have had a baby and he's too boisterous around the baby.
He had lived with 6 year old boy and has been amazing with him once he learnt that he isn't to be jumping about and knocking him over but we would suggest he can live with children should be 9 years and over. He's to be an only pet in the house and he is reactive to other dogs and he's not cat friendly. He needs owner who has experience of larger breeds and is confident handling a dog who's reactive to other dogs.
We have the following info from Kimba's owner.
Kimba is a 7 year old SBTX. He is a big lad and weighs about 35kgs. A pet free home is needed with older teenagers as he is a very strong boy and could easily knock over younger children (although he has been quite happy living with a bouncy 6 year old boy).
Kimba is strong on the lead and although walks nicely for most of the time, he is animal reactive and will need a confident handler. He is beautiful, charming and funny. A real people pleaser and very loving. Kimba spent a long time in kennels before I was lucky enough to adopt him, he was quite timid, skinny and had little in the way of training. He has come on leaps and bounds, he's happy, healthy and quiet. He is headstrong and very loyal, with some time, a confident and experienced owner he will do any new owner proud, just like he has with me. Unfortunately, my circumstances have changed and I can no longer give him the time and care he deserves. He just needs someone to give him a chance.
If you can help Kimba either by fostering or adopting him please contact us,
Thank you x
Kimba is being helped by Ricardo Ministro - Dog Behaviour & Training, he is doing really well, you can read more about his progress on Ricardos FB page.
