Foster Update August 2024
Lucy really needs a home with someone who can give her all the love that she deserves. She has come such a long way in the time that she has been in foster. She is trying her very best meeting dogs and has improved hugely - going from a dog that I never thought would be able to be around dogs to walking alongside a couple of calm dogs with no issues. It’s takes her a few minutes to calm down when she first sees the other dog but this is a massive improvement to how she was and I’m super proud of her.
In the house she is mostly quiet - she reacts to normal noises as any dog does but settles when you tell her to. And settles herself quickly when I’m not in my neighbours have reported ❤️ She loves her snuffle mat, licky mat and her favourite is her kong, which she spends ages with even if it’s empty 😂. She loves a good sleep in so if you’re sleeping, she’s sleeping too 😴
She has good manners and is gentle taking treats, she knows to wait for her food and to make eye contact with you. She knows paw and will happily offer it up if you have something tasty. She also LOVES belly rubs and will throw herself over as soon as she meets you to get them 🥰 I work shifts and Lucy has adapted really well already to the changing pattern - she seems to understand ‘work’ days and that when I come home at lunch time it’s just a quick break for her to get out to the toilet and a wee snack. She doesn’t show any signs of anxiety either when being left or while at home by herself. She has such a lot of love to give and I know that somewhere there is the right home for her 🤞🥰
Foster Update July 2024
Lucy is such a dinky staffie, who is full of life and such a sweetheart! Lucy is starting to really decompress and chill in the home now, she has came on so well. Her foster mum has put so much work into Lucy, even though Lucy is 10 she is pretty active loves her walks and playing in the garden.
When Lucy first came in she found seeing dogs a bit stressful and she would shout/bark at them with the help of a behaviourist this has massively improved and Lucy has been able to walk with another dog with no issue, she had an initial shout/bark for 5 minutes but then easily settled into an hours walk and walked side by side with another dog, she largely wasn't interested in the other dog. We will keep introducing Lucy to other dogs whilst in her foster home.
- Lucy loves her walks and being out and about, she is currently doing a few short walks a day. Lucy is active for her age.
- Lucy sleeps through the night and is house trained, she has also started taking herself into her crate.
- Lucy loves to cuddle up with you on the couch and play with toys.
- Lucy loves lick mats, kongs and takes treats very nicely
- Lucy has great manners & will “sit, stay, come, lay down, paw & fetch” on command.
- Lucy can be left in the house and is non-destructive.
Type of home needed...
- Secure garden would be a plus as she loves to sit in the garden.
- Pet free home
- Patience and time to let her decompress
All our dogs will be neutered/spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
