Introducing Zara (affectionately known by her fosterer was Fidget)
Zara was surrendered to the rescue with her mum.
She is a lockdown pup who didn’t have a lot of life experience before coming to the rescue, but since being in foster has proved she is pretty bomb proof.
She’s 3 years old, but acts younger than this.
She has lived with another dog all her life and has been living in a multi dog household in foster with a senior female and young male.
We think she will be happiest in a home with at least one other dog.
She loves all dogs and is very playful. Her play style can be pretty full on (she is a Staffie after all)
She loves everyone she has met, has no concept of personal space and will shower everyone with kisses.
When she first arrived to would try to jump on every person and dog that walked past. She has been working being able to pass calmly with her foster family, she’s better at walking past people than she is dogs. However, this will need to continue to be reinforced. She could benefit from a ‘puppy’ type class.
She is incredibly good motivated so this helps massively. She has been learning a few tricks while in foster.
Since being in foster she has been using a crate and will happily settle in this for a few hours if you go out.
Zara is extremely energetic, she is not for the faint hearted who is looking for a sofa snuggle companion. You can walk her 15km and as soon as you get home she wants to know what you’re doing next. If you’re relaxing and you move slightly to get comfortable she thinks this means something exciting is happening. You’ll never go to the toilet alone again.
She can be a little nervous about things like bikes, busses, the hoover and will occasionally nervous pee if she’s worried.
As Zara is a pretty good all round dog we may get a high number of applications for her. We will only contact applications that we believe are the most suitable. If you do not hear from us in 2 weeks, please assume you have been unsuccessful.
