This privacy notice is to inform, and applies to, individuals submitting applications volunteer with the charity or to adopt / foster dogs. It does not form part of any contract. It can be updated at any time and we will inform you if this occurs.

Staffie Smiles Rescue process your personal data for the purposes of assessing your suitability to volunteer, adopt or foster on behalf of the charity.
2. The lawful basis for processing your data.
Staffie Smiles Rescue processes your personal data for the purposes of the legitimate interest pursued by the controller, as per Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR.

You have the right to:
a. Be informed of Staffie Smiles Rescues use of your information.
This notice is intended to give you relevant information to meet this right.
b. Access personal data held about you.
You have the right to access personal information Staffie Smiles Rescue holds about you by making what is known as a Subject Access Request (SAR). Your personal data will not be shared with any other organisation. If you have applied to adopt or foster through the rescue, we will share your data with a volunteer Home Checker.
6. How long we keep your personal data.
If your application is unsuccessful, your personal data will be retained for 1 years after your application. If your application is successful, your personal data will be retained for the life time of any dog you adopt or for the period that you chose to continue to volunteer or foster on behalf of the rescue.
7. The use of automated decision making.
Your personal data is not used in any automated decision making (making a decision solely by automated means without any human involvement) or profiling (automated processing of personal data to evaluate certain conditions about an individual).
8. Change of purpose.
We will only process your personal data for the purpose for which we collected it.
9. Making a complaint.
