Adopt a dog

This rescue is run completely by unpaid volunteers, who all have their own families and work commitments, they give their time freely to help the future of our dogs which we really appreciate.

The adoption process/finding the right dog for a family can take some time.
Please only apply if you are able to wait on the right dog coming along to join your family .

One of our coordinators will be your point of contact and will keep you informed throughout this process .

Please note:

We only re-home dogs in Scotland.

We are not able to re-home any of our dogs to homes that have children under the age of 3 yrs old in them.

We do not re-home our dogs to homes that have un-neutered pets unless there is a genuine medical reason for this.

If you are applying and have a resident cat you may wait up to 9 months to a year on a dog.

Adoption enquiry process

Please read before applying to adopt one of our dogs

Our dog assessment
  • All our dogs are assessed by an experienced rescuer in a safe, controlled environment, before being introduced to the general public.

  • The dog will then be placed into a suitable foster home, where it will be assessed in a home environment.
Home check
  • We will not reserve any dog until a home check is completed and we are satisfied that this dog is the right one for you.

  • A home check will be arranged to ensure your home is suitable for one of our dogs.

  • Note if we feel the dog you are interested is not be suitable for your family we may suggest another dog to you  that would be more suitable.

  • Once we have confirmed everything has gone well with the home check we will contact you to ask if you still wish to proceed with the adoption.
Payment
  • There is an adoption fee of £220.00 (young dogs up to 12 months) , £180.00 (dogs 1 - 8 years) or £120.00 (8 years and above) will be required to be paid either via bank transfer or paypal. This payment then allows us to help another dog in dire need.

  • Once we have received a cleared payment, and the adoption contract is signed we will make arrangements for you to meet/collect your new dog.

  • We will arrange for your follow up to be completed within 6/8 months of adopting a dog.

  • If for any reason the dog needs to come back to us within the first 2 weeks a refund will be done to your account less £25 admin and travel costs.
Change in circumstance?
If your circumstances change at any point, and you are unable to keep the dog for any reason you must inform us ASAP.

All our dogs have lifetime rescue back up, this means we will take the dog back (no matter how long you have had the dog) we will then find a suitable home for the dog.
